The law firm ROXIN takes its name from Dr. Imme Roxin (*1937, Hamburg), co-founder and experienced white-collar criminal attorney, who played a decisive role in the development of our law firm. She has given the firm a strong focus on white-collar criminal law from the very beginning. Ms. Roxin stands for our aim to provide legal work on a solid academic foundation – geared to the practical interests of our clients, with vision, responsibility and integrity.

At the same time, the name ROXIN reflects a close connection to one of the most important personalities in modern criminal law: Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Claus Roxin, husband of Imme Roxin. His academic work has set standards around the world. Claus Roxin (*1931 in Hamburg, †2025) is regarded nationally and internationally as one of the most influential criminal law scholars. His groundbreaking writings and international teaching activities have not only had a lasting impact on legal scholarship but have also inspired a global network of outstanding criminal law experts – a network that laid the foundation for the establishment of the ROXIN International Alliance.
